Keurig B60 Coffee Maker Pros:(copied exactly from owner comments)

  • Largest variety of coffees and teas available
  • Easy - no clean up - fast coffee maker
  • Brews 3 different sizes of coffee
  • Can be used to heat water in less than 20 seconds
  • You can buy a filter that allows you to place your own GROUND beans in the machine and make your favorite coffee blend
  • It is ridiculously easy to use. No paper filters needed.
  • KEURIG'S CUSTOMER SERVICE ALONE MAKES THIS A BEST BUY. If you have ANY problems, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, Keurig operators are at the ready.
  • The coffee is delicious! Out of the 18 cup variety pack, I found only one brand that I didn't care for but that is just personal taste.
  • I was skeptical at first about the more "economical" alternative---using the "my k-cup" filter with regular ground coffee. Well, I tried it...and it was excellent.
  • I tried to take it a step further by placing a regular tea bag (minus the string and tag) into the chamber...and it brewed perfectly.
  • You can keep the machine on 24/7 and the water stays hot and ready to brew.
  • From the time you drop a K-Cup in the machine, you have but 40 seconds total to enjoy a cup of fine coffee. YUM!
  • An attractive addition to our kitchen, with the chrome accents and blue backlit water reservoir and LCD control.
  • You won't be embarrassed to leave this one sitting on a marble counter in your beautiful custom kitchen. In fact, the Keurig B-60 seems to dignify its surroundings.
  • Each K-cup is a mini brewer, complete with coffee and filter, so you know its damn fresh.
  • No problems, no "noise" and it brews coffee at 192*F. Any hotter and it would be boiling!
  • Now there isn't a drop wasted.
  • Yes, the Keurig and K-cups can be costly. However, when compared to the amount of money we were wasting by tossing most of our yucky tasting coffee away, its okay.
  • Everyone gets the warm beverage they want when they want with barely a moment's wait. Plus they can have it at their desired brewing strength.
  • The footprint is a bit larger than a standard coffeemaker, but it still fits nicely on my limited counter space.
  • It's solidly constructed and the k-cup mechanism is smooth...we're talking metal parts here people!
  • Once the cup is made, dripping stops almost immediately
  • You can refill the water just by lifting the top and pouring in a cupful of water, you don't have to take off the entire reservoir (although you can)
  • The K-cups are MUCH nicer to take out and throw away, rather than the soggy pods
  • There is no chance of putting in the K-cup the wrong way (such as crooked). I hate it on the Senseo when I don't put in the pod perfectly, and my Senseo spills water all over because it leaks through the seal.

Keurig B60 Coffee Maker Cons:(copied exactly from owner comments)

  • One thing - you can't make a pot
  • There is one downside of going with the K-cup system: buying the K-cups themselves. Only a couple of high-end retail stores carry any K-cups at all, and their selection is usually very limited. You need to buy them online.
  • K-cup coffee is relatively expensive. Amazon has the best price (if you get free shipping).
  • My only complaints are that it isn't as hot as I would like it, but I like my coffee HOT.
  • I wish the Kcups were a bit larger so I could make stronger coffee at the larger size.
  • I use the brewer at home in my home-based business and everyone that uses it- ends up buying one. But, we've ALL had problems with the brewer.
  • The pods aren't recyclable
  • Yes it is loud, less so then the senseo
  • The machine is relatively noisy. Especially the "shuddering" sound of the pump.
  • It can become very easy to drink a bit too much coffee a day.
  • I find so far that the coffee's, while rich in smell and fresh, they could be a bit 'stronger'. As another reviewer wrote, if you are accustomed to the power of Starbucks, you may find these K-cups a little light in boldness.
  • The coffee is weak, even on the smallest size setting. It's not bitter, which is good, but most of the K-Cups produce a less-than-flavorful blend.
  • Programming. While the blue back-lit display is nice, it seems a tad cumbersome to program a future cup of coffee for AM drinking. By the time it takes me to program for only '1 cup' in the morning, it's actually just faster if I turn it on and brew when I first wake up.
  • Don't mess around with the "basket" - it is sloppy and you won't get a perfect cup. Just order the cups!
  • Only downside is quantity if you are accustomed to drinking more then one mug of at time.

Keurig B60 Coffee Maker Positive Reviews - (from Amazon.Com website)

5.0 out of 5 starsI expected to HATE it!
By  N P Hoca

Why would anybody want a huge coffemaker that brews only one cup at a time? I'll tell why. It's FAST and the coffee tastes GREAT!

I was attempting to be gracious when I received this Keurig as a Christmas gift because I have very little kitchen counter space and could not see any benefit in brewing only one cup at a time. Since my friend paid a lot of $$ for this, I read the brochure and began using it for "a couple of days." Well, a couple of days turned into a couple of weeks, and now a couple of months.

Perhaps our use of the machine is a little unconventional. I do get 2+ cups of coffee out of one K-cup. My daughter uses it to heat water for soup or tea. It is so fast that it beats the microwave, PLUS the liquid is just the perfect temperature.

Bottom line is that I made space for the Kurig and it's used on and off all day!

5.0 out of 5 starsBest single-serve coffee maker out there
By The Mad Hatter

If you're reading this review, you're most likely doing research and trying to decide between the Keurig line (B40,B50,B60), the Tassimo, or the Senseo. Out of those three, the Keurig is the best looking, the most durable, has the best heating and pumping mechanism, and has the largest variety of coffees and teas available. The Tassimo's versatility is tempting, but variety of coffees is lacking, the machine is a first-run model that does not feel as quality as the Keurig (I could barely find a piece of metal in the entire thing), and it cannot be set to warm itself up like the Keurig. The Senseo isn't bad and I may even consider getting it as a second machine, but it is kind of lame how you need two pods to brew an 8 oz cup of coffee. Considering the price of pods that I was looking at, it would outprice both the Keurig and the Tassimo for daily usage.

5.0 out of 5 starsI love this Coffee Maker
By  L. Larson

Finally, I found the easy - no clean up - fast coffee maker that I need for my busy lifestyle. The k-pods are awesome - I use it for coffee and tea, it's so easy. Just put in the k-pod - push a button and you have your beverage. Great taste - no fuss - no mess or a chance of an exploding pod - a great size water reserve and a cool look. I've bought so many coffee makers over the years and I finally found a keeper.

One thing - you can't make a pot - but this machine is ready for the next cup in 30 seconds (fast) and my guest love choosing their favorite flavor, (there are so many to choose from) so I haven't missed the pot at all.

5.0 out of 5 starsBest. Coffeemaker. Period.
By  Dark Knight

I bought a Keurig after reading all of the reviews about it. I thought to myself, surely this machine has a lot of hype to live up to.

Not only did it pass the hype test, it did so with flying colors.

Let me just say that if you are doing research on this machine, you will discover that people just rave about it. Review after review say it is worth the investment.

Add this review to that list.

PROS:
It works not just as a coffee maker, there are also tea K-Cups available and it also can be used to heat water in less than 20 seconds. So if you have a tea bag and just want hot water, there is not need to use a kettle. Ever.

You can buy a filter that allows you to place your own GROUND beans in the machine and make your favorite coffee blend.

It is ridiculously easy to use. No paper filters needed. No grinds in the bottom of the cup. No wasting away of drinking coffee in the morning.

KEURIG'S CUSTOMER SERVICE ALONE MAKES THIS A BEST BUY. If you have ANY problems, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, Keurig operators are at the ready. I once called then at midnight because I thought I was having an issue setting up the machine. The customer service guy (had a Boston accent) was very nice and answered all my questions. He also registered the machine (it was a "gift"- to myself :-)), so there was no need to mail in the warranty card.

The blue LED lights are the best kept secret about this machine. It is very modern and fits into any kitchen, both during the day and at night.

CONS:
The K-Cups are hard to find in stores. I have only seen Bed Bath and Beyond sell K Cups in the store. 18 k-cups for $10??? That's ridiculous. ENTER AMAZON... They sell 50 K-Cups for $19.00. That is a better deal by FAR. You would be well to do to buy a coffee variety pack so you can see which one is the best for you. You don't want to get stuck with 50 K-cups of a flavor you don't like.

If you are having a group of people over, it's definitely easier to make a 12-cup batch of coffee. Some people may not like having to use 12 K-cups (a K-Cup for each guest). But here's the thing. Every single person will comment on how good their coffee is. You can then show them the Keurig, and it's a great conversation piece.

The B60 is a good compromise among the Keurig models. You can save your money and not spend $30 for a larger water reservoir. So you get a travel mug size of 11.25(?) oz. in the B70. So what? The 9.etc oz. cup size is plenty big for most travel mugs once you mix in the creamer.

Let's be frank. It's expensive. But honestly, the investment is worth it. Trust the reviews about the machine. People are more inclined to write a review if they really love a product or it they really hate a product. Obviously, people love this machine, and for good reason.

It is economical to buy this machine if you hate wasting $2, $3 or $4 at a coffee shop for your coffee in the morning. The per-cup average is about 40 cents, and in the long term, this machine pays itself off.

BOTTOM LINE:
If you're reading this review, you obviously care about what other people think before you spend $100+ on a freaking coffee maker. Don't worry. I was in your shoes. But there is a peace of mind that comes along knowing that you made the right choice. Do as much research as you can and get as many opinions as you can. But just remember that thousands of satisfied Keurig customers can't be wrong.

4.0 out of 5 starsWorks a lot better than it should!
By J. Janssen

I'm a coffee snob, plain and simple. I have a high end espresso machine, burr grinder, several french presses and an assortment of drip coffee makers along with a wonderful vintage vacuum machine. But, on a recent vacation, the condominium I was staying at came equiped with one of the Keurig machines and there were a few K-containers of assorted blends in the cupboard. Expecting nothing more than ordinary "motel room" coffee, I figured out how to use the Keurig, fired it up and put in a nondescript K-cup of "Columbian" and brewed a small cup while I was getting ready to head out in the morning....I won't say I was shocked, but I was certainly impressed. That cup was significantly better than it should have been given the pre-packaged, pre-ground coffee and the somewhat "gimicky" appeal of the system. I purchased some additional "k-cups" that day from a local store and continued to have easy, no mess morning coffee for the rest of my stay.

When I got back one of the first things I did was investigate the Keurig and I wound up getting a B-60 along with several boxes of K-cup coffees. Is it as good a 100% Blue Mountain in a french press or Chemix drip maker? No, but it is pretty darn good coffee, that is consistent from cup to cup with literally no mess.

5.0 out of 5 starsLove the coffee and the customer service
By  Coffee Lover in Georgia

I received this coffee maker as a gift for Christmas and loved it so much I bought a second one for our lake house. The convenience, selection of coffees available and the quality of coffee I drink every morning have completely cured me of my Starbucks habit, much to my husband's delight.

The other day I dropped and broke the reservoir for my coffee maker. I called Keurig to ask if I could purchase a replacement reservoir. After verifying the serial number, the said they'd send on right out, free of charge. What a happy surprise!

Keurig B60 Coffee Maker Negative Reviews - (From Amazon.Com website - Please note that there are actually very few negative reviews to be found)

3.0 out of 5 starsGreat Coffe but machine acts up after repeated use.
By  L.J. Jimenez

I purchased this machine about 6 months ago, and it has gotten daily use since that time.Recently, in the past month or so it has started to "act up". The water does not warm up, or it only brews a half of a cup. Sometimes when you push the button, nothing at all happens. So, what used to be a quick 30 second cup of coffee haas now become a daily ritual of waiting, praying and cursing. I would think that for the price of this coffee maker it would last a littler longer than 6 months without having difficulties. Oh, and by the way, we are conviently well out of the 30 day money back guarntee.

2.0 out of 5 starsDisappointed
By T. Ickes

This fancy-pants coffee maker was a big disappointment. I bought this for my husband for his birthday - looking for a great pod coffee system. This coffee maker isn't it.

He was excited to unwrap his gift - seeing as how we spotted this machine in Bloomingdales. We loved the appearance...but the love stopped there.

Sure, it's fast & easy to set-up, BUT...the coffee quality is poor, no better than instant coffee. And on the "travel mug" setting, it only fills the mug about 2/3 full. We tried to brew the same K-cup twice to get it to fill the mug, but that only made the coffee taste like hot water. Our plain Mr. Coffee coffee maker brews better tasting coffee, and fills our mug - no matter what the size. I guess if it means cleaning out the filter everyday, it's worth it for better tasting coffee.

3.0 out of 5 starsExtremely LOUD!
By Thunderstruck

I received the B60 Model for a anniversary present. The first time I started it up it was annoyingly loud. I love the coffee that is produced by this coffee machine. I use one at work (same model) and a friend has one also. My wife bought the Keurig coffee maker because I talked about how fresh and good the coffee was for every cup.

I brought home some Neoprene rubber and put under the machine with no difference in how loud it was. I also made the mistake of putting my cup on the drip tray and walking away. It vibrated so bad that the cup fell off the drip tray and before I could get back the drip tray was full of coffee. I know there are good ones out there look at all the good reviews. It seems there are a few were the pumps are out of balance or something to that affect.

I am giving three stars since I am the first one up and the loudness is very disturbing to the rest of the sleepers in our house.

I would of given 5 stars had it not been loud. I will make a comment after I call customer service to see how well they work with me.

Called customer service today. They needed to listen to the loudness over the phone. So I played along. All I was told is "to be perfectly honest you might get one that is exactly the same" Ok, what is that suppose to mean. I used the one at work today and it is the exact same model. No problems. Cups don't vibrate off. No loud vibrating noise.

3.0 out of 5 starsGreat machine, not so great coffee
By  J. Swords

The B60 is a well designed and constructed single cup coffee maker that makes mediocre tasting coffee. Buy the Tassimo if you want full-bodied, great tasting single cup coffee (and cappuccino!). Only consider the Keurig if you like your coffee to be weak "diner" variety coffee.

The B60 is probably the most quiet, well-constructed single cup coffee maker on the market. I have owned one for over a year and have had no problems with it. I have used at least six or seven varieties of coffee in the machine but have never been satisfied with the coffee taste.
